Main sights of the South Gobi

• Khongor Sand Dunes: the large dunes are also called the "singing dunes". Camel rides and dune climbing are popular.
• Bayanzag (Flaming Cliffs): cliffs that glow red at sunset, known as the place where dinosaur fossils were found.
• Yolyn Am: a gorge whose name is often translated as "valley of the eagles". Some tours visit it on horseback.

Best season

May to September is the main season. In midsummer the sun is strong and the temperature difference between day and night is large, so bring a hat, sunscreen and a jacket.

Getting around

You can fly to the South Gobi and travel by private vehicle there, or tour the region overland. We can propose a plan to suit your days and wishes.
