GOBI&KHANGAI COMBINED BAYANKHONGOR TOUR 10 Day
Great Bogd Mountain
One of the highest peaks of Gobi -Altai mountain range is Great Bogd Mountain
with an eternal snow cap elevated 3957m from sea level. Located in Gobi
region however, it hosts teal green moss, colorful flower beds, fast flowing
mountain rivers bab-bling noisily their way, a lake and endangered animals
such as wild sheep, ibex and leopards as well as medical herbs like snow
lotus, rose-root and pagoda tree.
Mountain Peaks experience snow in the middle of summer whereas it turns
to rain in its middle range. Temperature reaches 30 degrees C at its bottom,
creating a multitude of microclimates within one mountain. Great Bogd Mountain
range suffered from earthquake in 1957 creating two beautiful lakes called
"Blue" and "Green" Lakes. These are great attractions
for tourists and trekking fans.
Shargaljuut hot Springs
Shargaljuut hotsprings are located at Shargaljuut river at 1492m elevation
from sea level. These wonderful hotsprings consist of 108 hot and cold
springs which can treat 108 types of ailments. The hottest spring temperature
reaches 96 degrees C. Each spring in Shargaljuut gashes out of natural
shaped rocks resembling human organs. Like this, each spring is responsible
for healing ailments according to its belonging shaped rock of origin.
The spring for throat ailment thus rises out of the rock shaped like a
throat such as many other examples can be found here, making this place
a wonder of nature.
Chess Rock
Chess Rock monument in Erdenetsogt soum is an amazing heritage of intellectual culture of ancient people living BC 3000 years ago. Oral traditions say that an important king of Mongolian origin who played chess was buried here and a Chess Rock was erected in his memorial. As evidence for this legend, a burial place exists showing rock engravings and paintings of Mongolian chess figures and various animals. There is an unproven assumption that chess was invented and developed first by people of Mongolian origin.
White Cave
Mongolia and especially Bayankhongor aimag represent a place of the origin of humankind. In 1996, an American, Russian and Mongolian joint expedition found traces of human settlement in White Cave, Bayankhongor dating back to 750 000 years. This finding represents so far the most ancient of its kind in the world.
Gobi Nature
Bayankhongor is home to beautiful Gobi desert located 150km out of the aimag center. Gobi sand dunes and Buutsagaan and Orog lake, the largest Gobi lakes surrounded by saxaul bushes stretch out from valleys across vast territory to the western border of Mongolia. The area offers habitat to rare species of Bactrian camels and central Khalkh herder families, which represent main attractions for tourists.
Bayankhongor Tourism
Bayankhongor has natural attractions such as one of the world’s 13 wonders,
over 300 hot springs +45-+95°C “Shargaljuut” complex, “White Cave” base
of prehistoric petroglyphs where people resided 800 years ago, “Nogoon
Tsav Khooloi”, “Khermen Tsav”, “Bugiin Tsav” of dinosaur remnants from
50-80 million years ago. Orog lake (54 square miles/140 sq. km) and Buuntsagaan (97 square miles/252
sq. km) are the biggest lakes in the aimag.
Transportation:
There is a bus that goes from Ulaanbaatar everyday at 8AM. In 2021, a paved
road connecting Bayanhongor with Ulaanbaatar through Arvayheer. Travel
time was 10–12 hours before the road was completed. It should be at least
a couple hours less now.

- If one person uses one hotel room, an additional charge of 40USD per night

- There is an additional charge for single use of Tourist Camp Ger. It is 25 USD per night.

departure (excluding holidays). If you apply for a tour after that, we
will reply to the customer once before making arrangements, and we will
start making arrangements after confirming that we can contact you reliably.

After making a reservation by email and phone, we will send a travel confirmation and invoice to your email . After confirming the invoice, you will transfer 50% of the travel fee to our Mongolian bank account. After confirming payment, it will be an official reservation. The 50% balance will be transferred to our bank account before the start of your trip. |
