In 1994, the first hot spring camp in Mongolia was opened in Tsenkher village in Arkhangai Province. Mongolia has about 50 hot springs, and this is the second hottest (86.7°C), a sulfur spring. It is said to be effective for neuralgia, joint pain, muscle pain, stiff joints, bruises, sprains, chronic digestive disease, recovery from fatigue, poor circulation, cuts, recovery from illness, chronic skin diseases, diabetes, chronic gynecological diseases and general health. Soak in a Japanese-style open-air bath and gaze leisurely at the dazzling starry sky. Accommodation is a Mongolian-style ger camp. The surroundings have mountains and woods, and the seasonal flowers starting with the Shar Yalguin are beautiful, a varied environment ideal for trekking and horse riding.
World Heritage: Karakorum Ruins Enjoy a continental World Heritage and hot spring trip at the same time
Mongolia has many highlights besides the steppe. In the cultural landscape area known as the Orkhon Valley, many ruins and historic sites remain, and the most famous is the Karakorum ruins. When the Mongol and Turkic nomads who have long lived in Mongolia founded their states, they chose the Orkhon River basin for their capitals. Chinggis Khaan also ordered the capital of the Mongol Empire to be established there. By his order, the city of Karakorum was built in 1235, and it is famous for having been, for a time, the center of the world. Erdene Zuu of the Karakorum ruins is one of Mongolia's World Heritage Sites. Suddenly appearing in the steppe, the ruins consist of 108 striking white stupas and outer walls surrounding the Buddhist temple, a group of monasteries with a long history in Mongolia. A little walk from the ruins is Turtle Rock, and the site where the "Karakorum History Museum" was built by a joint project of the Mongolian Cabinet and JICA with Japanese ODA.

The world's last wild horses, the "takhi" or Przewalski's horse, can be seen in this area. About 50 kinds of mammals live here, including the wild horse takhi, deer, gazelles and marmots. The Hustai reserve is located about 130 km from Ulaanbaatar. From 1992, 15 wild takhi horses were brought to Mongolia from the Netherlands. Since wild horses were returned to Mongolia from European zoos (the Netherlands and Switzerland) in 1995, the population has grown to 2,000. The takhi once lived freely in tens of thousands on the Mongolian steppe, but became extinct around the beginning of the 20th century. After the takhi returned to their Mongolian homeland after 100 years, their numbers have steadily grown, and now more than 300 takhi in total live freely in their ancestors' homeland in the Hustai reserve in Central Province and in Govi-Altai Province.
